Vibrant Flower Basket
A cheerful basket arrangement with bold sunflowers, orange and peach daisies, white accent blooms, airy yellow sprigs, deep green foliage, and a richly woven brown basket on a soft blue ground.
Design Read & Color Story
The reference centers on a full wicker basket overflowing with bright garden flowers. The strongest visual anchors are the golden sunflower heads with dark centers, the saturated orange bloom on the left, peach-pink side flowers, small white daisies, yellow bead-like sprays, and dark-to-medium green leaves tucked behind the bouquet.
Suggested DMC Palette
Coverage estimates: browns dominate the basket, followed by yellows for the sunflower heads, then greens for leaves and sprigs. The peach, orange, white, and salmon shades work best as accents rather than equal-weight colors.

Texture, Thread Tension & Finishing Tips
Woven basket texture
Use directional brown stitches to suggest over-under wicker. After the base fill, lay darker backstitch lines into the recesses and lighter whipped lines on the raised bands. A slightly uneven rhythm looks more natural than a perfectly gridded basket.
Flower texture
Keep sunflower petals long and directional, pointing into the center. For the orange and peach daisies, shorter satin stitches create a tidy beginner-friendly finish. French knots in the centers add dimension without needing complicated shading.
Hoop, fabric, and strands
A 6–8 inch hoop on medium cotton or linen suits this design. Use 2 strands for most floral work, 1 strand for fine stems and outlines, and 3 strands only where you want the basket to feel dense and substantial.
Final polish
Steam from the back after stitching, avoiding pressure on French knots. Trim fuzz around dark sunflower centers, then add a few final light stitches on the upper basket rim and petal tips to make the bouquet look bright and dimensional.
